The Marine Times is not known for shying away from the occasionally risque cover — one can't help but remember their cover for the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell— and they didn't fail to impress with their latest: "Goodbye Fat Bodies."
The term "fat bodies" is common in Marine Corps lexicon, and means exactly what you probably think.
Notably, they included one of our new contributors, Tatum Vayavananda, in their cover story — which is essentially about how the Corps is waging an internal war on lax body mass standards (which are in all likelihood a result of fighting an 11-year war).
With now only 6,500 Marines deployed to Afghanistan, the Marine Corps can turn more of its focus back to maintaining weight and fitness standards.
